Emily Swallow

American actress Emily Swallow, born December 18 1979. She is most well-known for her role as Kim Fischer on The Mentalist and as Amara / the Darkness in the eleventh season of Supernatural. The actress is also famous for her role as The Armorer on the Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian. Emily was also involved in the video game The Last of Us Part II. Swallow was born December 18 1979 in Washington, D.C. Her family lived in Sterling, Virginia, as also in Jacksonville, Florida. When she was at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville the actress began performing in various college, amateur professional and professional theatre productions. Swallow graduated with a BA in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Virginia in 2001. She pursued her studies for an MFA in Acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Acting. She appeared in two international premieres: Donald Margulies' play The Country House, Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse; and Mark Rylance's production of Nice Fish, at the Guthrie Theatre. In 2010 she was awarded the Falstaff Award as best female actor for her performance in The Taming of the Shrew. She also performed alongside Jac Huberman in Jac N Swallow's musical, Romantic Poetry at the Manhattan Theater Club. The show focuses on the humorous adventures of the two as they navigate very different challenges in their lives with varying degrees of sanity, and decency.
