Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones was the younger sister of media producer, mogul, Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Kidada Jones is her older sister. She also has five half-siblings derived from the other relationships her father had with his family. Her father is African-American and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant of immigrants from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was born into Reform Judaism. She was born in Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones stated that Jones' parents were mixed race and weren't acceptable to her during the 1970s. Jones has made her professional acting debut in The Last Don, a mini-series in 1997 that was based on a novel by Mario Puzo. Also in 1997, Rashida graduated from Harvard University. Went to the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. She was named the Most Likely to Succeed. Her name is Arabic (O+-O'UO-O(c)) meaning "Major adult, mature, elder or wise". The People Magazine's "50 most beautiful people" list. (USA) [2002] Half-sister of Quincy Jones III, Jolie Jones, Martina Jones, Kenya Kinski-Jones, and Rachel Jones. Formerly married to Mark Ronson (music producer), 25 February 2003. Niece of Robert Lipton. She was romantically associated with Josh Hartnett, Charlie Hunnam and John Krasinski. She was a singer in the Tupac Shakur tribute song, that was written by Kidada Jones, her sister. Rashida and Kidada's brother Quincy Jones III produced the track, while their father, Quincy Jones, made an appearance while reciting the words from Shakur's poem "Starry Night" during the introduction. The poem was the inspiration behind the title of the song. Rashida is African-American and has lesser English, Scottish, or Welsh ancestral ancestry than his mother (some of his African ancestral ancestors were from the Tikar tribe from Cameroon). Rashida is Ashkenazi Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent. Her paternal grandparents are from South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively. Her maternal grandfather was born in New York, and her maternal grandmother was born in Dublin, Ireland, of Eastern European Jewish origin. She has played three characters that are named "Karen" from 2009 to present on the TV show that is a cult comedy series Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2006), and The Office (2005).
