Milena Govich

Milena Govich is a writer, director musician, actor, and actor who has directed many episodes of TV, including The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012), among others. Milena served as the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf’s CBS series FBI (2018) and is currently in the process of completing two pilots. Milena was one of the eight women selected for AFI’s highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable is her short film as well as a television show proof of concept, was shown at SXSW. It also won Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has been screened across the United States and was awarded the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest, and the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has been featured in over 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her debut on CBS. She then became the only female detective on Law & Order (1990). She has appeared or recurred on numerous other shows: K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as for the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has been in numerous movies such as Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) starring alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015), starring alongside Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). The native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of high school prior to completing a double major in singing and pre-med, with minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma, as well as graduating valedictorian. Her classical ballet training to stage her Broadway debut in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
