Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September 1973) is an American actress and activist. McGowan made her debut film debut in 1992 with Encino Man (1992), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). She had her breakthrough in the film horror Scream (1996) and later featured in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan was well-known for her role in Charmed which was a supernatural-themed drama on WB from 2001 until 2006. Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) which was the film in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in the year of 2018. It was followed by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. In 2017 Time honored McGowan as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine's Person of the Year for speaking out about sexual harassment and assault particularly in relation to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases and the Me Too movement. McGowan has published a memoir, Brave, and starred in the four-part documentary series Citizen Rose, both in the year 2018.
